LA New Liberals Endorse Laura Friedman for California 30
LOS ANGELES, CA - The LA New Liberals and Center for New Liberalism are proud to endorse our friend Congresswoman Laura Friedman in her reelection campaign to represent California’s 30th District in the United States House of Representatives.
We first endorsed Congresswoman Friedman in 2024 when she ran for election to Congress, and we have been pleased to get to know and uplift her brand of practical, outcomes-focused progressivism. Her deep ties to her district and the communities she represents are clearly embedded in her messaging and policymaking. We also value her commitment to telling truth forcefully and clearly, and her vigor in standing up for her district when it has been targeted by the Trump administration and its surrogates and spokespeople.
In her current term, she championed the Safe and Affordable Transit Act; Build HUBS (Housing, Unlock Benefits and Services) Act; and, alongside our friend Congressman Scott Peters, a bill to exempt infill housing from consideration National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. We applaud these efforts, and we fully expect her energies to be unleashed further in a Democrat-controlled House.
We heartily support Congresswoman’s Friedman’s reelection, and we encourage her constituents to do the same.
The LA New Liberals and Center for New Liberalism believe that the best societies commit themselves to markets, growth, and innovation while equally committing to robust public institutions to expand opportunity and safeguard the public good.
As an organization premised first in ideas and values and then partisan affiliation, we look for candidates who we think embody our ideals when making endorsements of their candidacies. We also distinguish between encouraging our friends and members to consider voting in a certain way and full endorsement because we believe endorsed candidates should reflect our principles as an organization as closely as possible.
